Community Gardens

The Need

Today, we are asking you to donate to our COMMUNITY GARDENS PROJECT.

Part of the L’ Eau Bayou Foundation mission is to build sustainable communities by increasing and enhancing community gardening and greening across the low-income communities.

The L’ Eau Bayou Foundation recognizes that community gardening improves people’s quality of life by providing a catalyst for neighborhood and community development, stimulating social interaction, encouraging self-reliance, beautifying neighborhoods, producing nutritious food, reducing family food budgets, conserving resources and creating opportunities for recreation, exercise, therapy, and education.

L’ EAU BAYOU FOUNDATION and its partners work to promote and support all aspects of community gardens. The L’ Eau Bayou Foundation with their partners support regional community gardening networks; developing resources in support of community gardening by encouraging research and conducting educational programs.

By supporting local gardens through your generosity L’Eau Bayou is requesting funds for the following to create community gardens for locals, seniors, and children.

  • Water access and drip irrigation
  • Security fencing
  • Seeds and trees organic mulch etc
  • Materials and labor creating planting beds and dirt as needed
  • A little storage unit location for tools etc

Amount needed per site $25,000 and our goal is to create 10 such gardens. Below are various manners to sponsor the projects, BUT any amount is more than welcome!

All donors no matter the amount can track the progress of gardens through pictures on the web site and of course contacting us and work in the gardens themselves. We at L’Eau Bayou Foundation need all volunteers and garden lovers.
